  Mission Statement

At Sabain Academy Boxing & Education, our mission is to empower and uplift young people in our community through the transformative power of boxing, physical activity and wellbeing. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing while developing essential life skills that support their confidence, aspirations and future success. We co-founded this non-profit organisation because we recognise the immense potential and untapped talent within our community's youth. Through free, accessible boxing and fitness sessions, we aim to remove barriers to participation and offer meaningful opportunities for young people to grow, connect with others and discover what they can achieve. Our primary goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment where young people can discover their strengths, build self-confidence and develop resilience. Through our boxing programmes, experienced coaches encourage discipline, determination, teamwork and respect, helping participants navigate challenges both inside and outside the ring, regardless of their ability or previous experience. Inclusion and wellbeing are central to everything we do. We welcome young people from different backgrounds, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those who are less active and those facing social disadvantage. We adapt our approach to individual needs, creating positive experiences that encourage participation, belonging and long-term engagement in physical activity. SABE is dedicated to fostering social responsibility and strong community partnerships. By working closely with local schools, Lewisham Youth Service, community organisations and other stakeholders, we aim to build a network of support that extends beyond our sessions. We strive to address barriers to opportunity and ensure that young people feel seen, valued and supported. Through our work, we envision a future where young people have the confidence, resilience and determination to overcome challenges, pursue their ambitions and become positive role models in their communities. Whether they box for fitness, friendship or future sporting opportunities, we are committed to making a lasting difference and creating brighter futures for the young people we serve.

“My first goal was to become world champion and I did that against Ricky Burns at 135.
Once I conquered that, I set myself another goal and another goal.."
